I WILL – I CAN

The other day I saw this on my friend Darlene’s blog and I decided to print one out and laminate for every one that attends our school here!

I think this poster says it all so perfectly!  God never asks any of us if we want to – just wants to see that our hearts are willing to say YES and…

The above posters hang above our blackboard in the schoolroom as a daily reminder where our hearts need to be!

Family Rules

This hang on our kitchen pantry door!  Lest they ever forget the rules and need a reminder on how to be loving to one another.

LOVE = OBEDIENCE!

Thus God saying first – LOVE the LORD your GOD with your FULL HEART and soul!

Before anything else He asks us to love Him.

Because He knows if we love Him – will obey Him. Which is a direct command from Jesus in the NT.

“If you love Me you will obey Me.”  John 14:15

You don’t obey those who you don’t love and put first before yourself.  Thus, the reminder by Jesus, that no one can serve two masters.  Nor can anyone love the world and God.  We are either a foe or friend to Jesus.  A daily choice.   We either love God or ourselves and this world.  There is no in-between.

I also LOVE this which each of the children have in their desks laminated.  They can see clearly if their hearts have been in the right place during our day and especially during our school time.  (I found on 1+1+1=1 but can’t remember the link since I downloaded it over a year ago. Carisa – help please :-)

These are all great tools – however the best sharpening tool I know of is straight from His word.  Hide His word in their hearts daily and trust that He is doing a good work in them!

We are using our Seed Family Worship CD memory verse sheet and cards (that I printed out and laminated).  Each week I print out these and the children have all week to memorize the verse.  They are LOVING IT!  Every Friday I have them stand before our class and recite the weekly verse and all the ones we memorized so far.  They are doing a great job!

I pray this has encouraged you to keep pressing in and on towards the goal of Christ Jesus!

With deep respect for all of you training them up in the way they should go!  Be blessed and bless others!

PS Yesterday we went to the zoo and had a great time.  I will posting photos of our time there later today on our family blog

  2. I love this idea!!! This is perfect for my situation...God has blessed me with the opportunity to homeschool a little boy who is not yet a Christian...yet I am allowed to do Bible Study with him, and I am excited about teaching him to know God and care about others. This will be great for him. I also want you to know how much I love your blog and the story of your family...it is beautiful and inspiring...I hope to have a beautifully unique family some day as well!
