Listening…

In the opening Teen Talk Tuesday post I shared a video call the Stool.  Last night as I was trying to fall asleep God spoke to me something very similar.   I regretted not coming back downstairs to write it out immediately because it was rich.

I shared with you what saying YES to God has been like for me here.

My conversation with God went something like this last night (actually He spoke and I listened).

Softly He called, “Are you listening child?”

Without hesitation I replied from my heart, “Yes Lord.”

Softly He said, “Will you go?  Does it matter where?”

I replied, “Yes Lord.”

Softly He said, “Then trust Me.”

I replied, “I will.”

Softly He said, “Trust means you will let go of your plans, your way, your timing.”

I replied, “I understand.”

With a deep love for me, He said, “If you follow Me no matter where or what, you will see the greatest blessings are yet to come for you.”

He continued, “Don’t look out for you.  I will do that.  Don’t worry about what is to come.  I have and will continue to go before you.   Rest in My love for you.   I see the deep places of your heart.  I know what worries you, let Me carry that for you.  I will handle it all.   I have a plan for you.   My plan is perfect.   My plan will help you to see how much I love you.   It will help your faith strengthen.   I once used adoption to draw you closer to Me.   I will use a new thing.    Don’t be afraid of it.  Don’t give in to the things you see or know.   You need do nothing but trust in Me!   Let Me be your eyes, strength and comfort.”

I replied, “I trust You.   I will walk by faith.  I will simply ask for Your grace each day to get me through the journey ahead.”

God spoke once more, “I love you with unmatchable love.  I love you because I love you because I love you.   Let My love be your guide.  Let My love be your focus and desire.   Let My love help you to obey and trust in Me as I walk you through this journey.”

I smiled, tears fell from my eyes and asleep I went…as I answered, “Thank You for loving me so.”

I woke up thinking about the choice before me and each of us.

We can either give our all, as He asks of us – which is due to Him who gave it ALL for us.

Or we can hold back and never see the glory of the Lord in our lives.

I can either fully experience His love, grace, peace and joy…

Or I can live a half empty life wondering where God is and why He doesn’t answer seem to be answering my prayers?  Which by the way He is, just not the way you want so you refuse to hear His answer.

I can either live by my will and for what I want…

Or I can live powered by His Spirit which is PERFECT LOVE that casts out all fear and gives grace to the humble and supplies me with everything I need to be content!

Friends when we say YES to GOD – we will live the abundant life in Him!   God doesn’t give half way in any area and His love never stops giving.  God won’t ever stop loving you – no matter what.   God will be there for you no matter what.  God will answer your prayers and His grace will be sufficient to do whatever He asks of you.

Look up – not in.

Look up – not back.

Look up – not ahead.

Keep your eyes upon Jesus.

You will no longer be blind to His desires for you.

You will develop compassion for the lost and lonely.

You will desire to live His way and not yours.

You will desire to pray for those who sin against you.

You will desire to forgive those who hurt you.

You will desire to pray from your heart.

You will learn to wait upon the Lord before acting.

You will learn that His timing is perfect.

You will be thankful when He says, “no” because you will know it is best for you now.

You will learn that He who promises everything is faithful!

You will be immersed in His love for you and act from it – NOT for it!

My prayer for all of us this week – is that we will trust Him more each day – laying down our wants and plans and pick up His!

That we will open our hearts to do whatever He is asking – without questioning His call upon our lives.   We will put aside our prideful ways and simply let God be God in our lives!

Please take time to soak in His truth and let the Spirit speak to your heart.  Be still and know that He is GOD!  The ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD!  The ONE who LOVES you with an everlasting LOVE!

James 1:2-24

2Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

5But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

6But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

7For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

9But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.

11For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

13Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

15Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

17Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

18In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

This you know, my beloved brethren But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

James 1:26-27

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

James 4:1-8

1What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?

You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"?

6But He gives a greater grace Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."

7Submit therefore to God Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you, Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Ahhh the truth will set us FREE!   Praying for each of you today!  Let the whispers of our KING be the comfort of your heart today!  With much love – be blessed!
