  1. Hi Jill,
I love your blog and value your advise on homeschooling. My little guat-tot is 4 and she is in some classes and I'm slowly adding in some basic schooling. My question is this, did you have difficulty in capturing their attention at that age? I struggle with keeping her attention and I really do want to homeschool her but am feeling confused and struggling in keeping her still long enough to finish an activity. Any tips?

  2. Sophie our 4 yr old tots are too busy to keep their attention for long. So I do school with them in short spurts. I work on alphabet - coloring a letter, tracing a letter, drawing a letter in salt, flour, shaving creme, etc. Then we read a book. Then we play outside, then we come back to school table to work on colors, or numbers. I don't work too long or on too much. I make this stage of learning fun. The greatest thing you can do is read out loud alot and get or make flashcards for them to read along with you!

    Hugs and love,
    Jill
