Blessed and Beautiful

Truly I couldn’t count all the ways I am blessed by my husband and children.   Nor could I ever count all the ways God desires to bless me daily.

bless–verb (used with object), blessed or blest, bless·ing.

1. to consecrate or sanctify by a religious rite; make or pronounce holy.

2. to request of God the bestowal of divine favor on:  Bless this house.

3. to bestow good of any kind upon others: a nation blessed with peace.

4. to extol as holy; glorify:  Bless the name of the Lord.

5. to protect or guard from evil (usually used interjectionally):  Bless you! Bless your innocent little heart!

Then I went to the bible and we all know that God loves to bless us.  It is just one amazing part of God’s loving character.

“God blessed them; and God said to them, " Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."  Genesis 1:28 (NASB)

“Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”  Genesis 2:3 (NASB)

“The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had 14,000 sheep and 6,000 camels and 1,000 yoke of oxen and 1,000 female donkeys.” Job 42:12

Then we begin to see the blessings of trusting and obeying God here…

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,Nor stand in the path of sinners,Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!” Psalm 1:1 (NASB)

“For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD,You surround him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12 (NASB)

“O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalm 34:8 (NASB)

“Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12 (NASB)

And one that is not so easy for any of us but one we should truly remember and do…

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” Romans 12:14

"And behold, I am coming quickly blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book."  Revelation 22:7

It would take me hours to copy and share all the verses speaking about God’s abundant blessings upon us.   Truly we could spend our lifetimes trying to thank Him for all that He has done and continues to do and it would never be enough.

Well, last night the girls blessed our family and me.

First, Lexi made a new vegan recipe {Creamy Tomato Soup}

and then with Lilly…they made me a homemade vegan raspberry ice-cream pie {they started with coconut vanilla ice-cream and blended in fresh raspberries}.

Don’t they just look delicious?  Trust me they were!!!!  They were both AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

What the girls did for me was beautiful too and so is His word of truth!

I made a promise to Jordan to share these photos with all of you.  Lately she has been dressing up as a royal Princess and have balls for all of her siblings.  I should take a photo of their feast for you next time.  Isn’t she beautiful?

And this shot has beautiful written all over it.  I took it with my 100mm the other day while playing in the snow with the kids.

Today I pray you find ways to bless others and allow God to bless you.   Trust in His desire to bless you in ways you never dared to think or ask.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.”  Psalm 37:4-5 (NIV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”  Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

“Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act!  Travel steadily along His path.”  Psalm 37:34

Today on my photography blog I am beginning a new journey – hosting weekly photo tutorials and then my friend Ashley is teaching how to edit them.

If you want to join in – all you need is a camera and a flickr account to share them if you don’t have a blog.   Or you can simply learn along with us and enjoy a year of photo challenges.
