Capturing the Moon and Sunrise

This morning we woke up to more snow. Sad smile

O’ where O’ where art thou O’ lovely spring?

Until it comes I will have plenty of opportunities to capture beautiful mornings like this one…{shot with my 100mm 1/60 f/7.1 ISO 125}  I am now realizing the need for a polarized filter to truly capture the colors I see and desire to have in each shot.  I love each SOOC but they are still not true to what I saw this morning.

This one is overexposed {1/50 f/7.1 ISO 125} because I was trying to get the true color of the sky and lost the moon.

I was then trying to get a few macro shots of the new snow Lexi called out, “Mom turn around the sun is coming up!”  It was the most amazing ball of orange/red I have ever seen.  Sigh…no matter what settings I tried I could not get it right.  Polarized filter here I come!  Smile  I do love love love the silhouette of the trees!
