TTT - New Creation

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of our January topic of "A New Creation" is how the Lord has worked in my life over the past 4 or so years. It's amazing to me to look back on who I was and who I am today; I am a new creation in Christ!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.  2 Corinthians 5:17

My question for you today is, "Have you experienced salvation in Christ and what it feels like to be a new creation?"

If you have experienced this, what are you doing with it?

One of the greatest quotes I've heard in a long time happens to come from the Westminster Catechism (written in the 1600's and outlined the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church):

Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

What does that mean to you? To me, that means, from the moment God saved me, the purpose for my life (on earth and eternally in heaven) was to glorify Him.

When God saved me, I immediately became a new creation in Christ, old things left (over time) and new things continue to come; I will be a work in Christ until the day I die, not completely whole and perfect until my feet reach Heaven and me eyes look upon my Savior!

But, your lifestyle must change! You can no longer listen to the same music, read the same books, watch the same TV shows, hang around the same crowd, speak the same foul words, or carry yourself in the same way. As a child of God, He has commanded us to be holy:

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I Am holy."  1 Peter 1: 14-16

My prayer for you today is that the Most High God will continue to conform you into the image of Jesus Christ, that He will continue to give you the strength to turn away from "the passions of your former ignorance", and that He will equip you for every good work, for His glory!

You are a new creation, go out and live like it!

Thank you Christie for sharing more truths and challenging us to be who God has created us to be!!!!
