Independence Day Prayer

Tomorrow we will celebrate the freedom of this country.  Yet, my heart is reminded that daily I must celebrate and be thankful for being set free from the bondage of this world.   I am reminded of God’s goodness, grace, and mercy every time I look up to the heavens.   His glory can always be found.   I pray that you all have a blessed weekend and holiday filled with joy, hope, peace and love.

(this sunflare shot reminds me of fireworks – I was sitting watching our children in the pool and noticed the sunlight coming through the trees and couldn’t help but capture it!)

    Dear Lord,

There is no greater feeling of liberation than to experience this freedom from sin and death that you have provided for me through Jesus Christ. Today my heart and my soul are free to praise you. For this I am very thankful.

On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchases with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives.

Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families.

Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ.

    Amen

I am hoping to capture many amazing firework shots this year – seeing one show tonight and again tomorrow.   I look forward to seeing all of your red, white and blue SOOC shots tomorrow as well.

Again, be safe and rejoice in the freedom we have been given!  It is not without a cost and none of us can ever repay it.  That is the unbelievable gift of mercy and grace!   That is the amazing gift of God’s love!
