Running the Race…

A month ago I set out to take some fun self-portraits.   I didn’t want the typical sit and pose shots – I wanted to express a bit more of my personality.  Meanwhile in doing so I found that they truly show my heart – that I am running the race towards the goal of Christ Jesus.   The joy I have comes 100% from Him.  The peace I enjoy continues to come from putting all of my hope and faith in Him.   The love I share overflows from His abounding grace, mercy and LOVE poured into my life!  I want to thank Lexi for taking these {thank you for trusting me that they would be more than goofy shots!}   I will share the shots I took of her and more of me later Open-mouthed smile Until then – won’t you join me in running the race?

I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.  Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

1 Corinthians 9:23-25

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:7-8

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:1-2

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.” Hebrews 10:36

Romans 12:1-2 says, “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Romans 12:10-13  says, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.”

To know me is to know Him.  I would love for you to get to know my heart and more importantly His so deeply full of LOVE for you!  Praying you will follow me to His amazing grace!
