He did it!

Three weeks ago I came home to find out that my husband (amazing guy – just sayin’) had taught our son how to swim without his floaties across the pool.   YIKES!  I thought immediately when I realized which son it was.   He is so easily distracted I was worried.   But when I went to the pool with them last week to watch and capture it – I stood in awe of how well he did.   YEAH!   He is NOT safe alone at all yet, but he will be by next year.  We are so proud of him and I am so thankful for such an incredible teacher!!!
All of our children have had professional private lessons at our home for the last five years so Scott knew exactly how to teach him.   You begin with them mastering how to float (tummy and chin up, no kicking, legs and arms out)  – then turn over to swim and right back to float.  Then you shorten the float and have them swim four strokes and keep lengthening the time of swimming to float. But they always can float and save their lives.   Which is a GOOD thing!!!

Scott was telling him – “look for mom and keep going towards her.”   I was about 4 ft away at this point and he was getting so excited to be at the edge to show me that he can swim the full length of our pool.

As you can see he was pretty proud of himself and so was everyone watching him.  He had a full cheering section all around the pool!   Then it was back to swimming and floating.

OK, now it was time to warm up and just embrace the joy he was feeling from showing Mommy that he can do it!

Wishing you all a blessed day!
