Be Still SONday–Shhhhh…

This week was a doozie!  I have spent moments each day just thanking God for His grace that continued to be poured into my life!  Trust me friends His grace is enough!

It is the air I(we) breathe.

It is the peace that surpasses all understanding.

It is the calm during every storm.

As I walked through each storm this week, God reminded me to be silent.   To be still.

Shhhhhh…

Look at each photo and be still.   Imagine the sounds all around.   Imagine the scent of the salty air.  Imagine the feeling of peace washing over you as the waves came in over and over again.

Just as I was being still - he took flight…

We entered into a game – I would turn to walk near him and he would soar across the water.  Effortlessly!

As he flew I stood still.  I watched.

Shhhh…God continues to whisper.

I couldn’t help but think of several words of truth that God has whispered to me in the past…

Hebrews 3:7-8 says, Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME, AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,…”

Shhhhh…keep listening…

Proverbs 3:5-8 says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.”

Isaiah 5:21 says, “Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.”

Shhhhh…be still.

Proverbs 26:12, “Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

bird-7464

Shhhh…be still.

Isaiah 47:10 says, “"You felt secure in your wickedness and said, 'No one sees me,' Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one besides me.'”

Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, “Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the LORD.”

Philippians 3:8 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

Then I leave you with this -to encourage you and meditate upon today…(remember shhhhh and be still)

2 Peter 1:2 –11 says, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.”
