25 Days of Christmas–Day Five

As I took this photo of our Christmas tree and its reflection, my mind began to question do I reflect Jesus in all I do?
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17
It is so easy to find the perfect resources with all that is available to us on the internet…what man uses for evil – GOD always trumps with good!
So how do we reflect Jesus in all we say and do?
It begins with relying on the Holy Spirit so that we can produce His fruits Galatians 5:22
Jesus is long-suffering, slow to anger, gentle, kind, loving, patient, joyful, and peaceful – the list goes on and on.   Jesus always forgave those who rejected Him, hurt Him and despised Him.   We must be forgiving in our lives.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
We must remain humble before Him and others.  God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
We must love God more than anything or anyone.   He must be first in our lives.
I John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
We must turn away from our sins, bring them before the Lord and He will be quick to forgive us.   1 John 1:9
Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
We must be obey God and do what He asks of us – LOVE ONE ANOTHER, before ourselves.
Ephesians 4:26-32 "In your anger do not sin"  Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.  He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
We must remember we can ONLY serve one Master and that ours is always on our side – every step of the way!
Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
To read more verses on reflecting Christ in our lives – see and believe John 16:7-16, John ch17 (especially the last few verses), Ephesians 3, and Rev 21:3-7

As you take time this month reflecting on who God is and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – allow God to show you the areas in your life that are not reflecting Him and quenching the Spirit.
