Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Thank You God! As I rest in Your word today and this week, I am thankful for Your promises that You have made to me personally and all that call upon Your name. I want to say to those of you who might not read His word or know Him personally that this promise is for you too. His desire is that all come to Him. That you make the choice to invite Him into your life and heart today! That you allow Him to give you everything you need to have a victorious life no matter what circumstances come throughout your life. God wants to lavish you with His love, peace and joy.
But you can't expect to experience this if you have not asked Him into your heart and life. God says there is only one way to a relationship with Him. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
It is not through service, good deeds or how often you attend church. He says it is only through the life that He offered us - His Son. We must believe in the promises He made from the beginning of the bible to the end - that His Son Jesus was sent to live a sinless life, draw upon the resource of His Father for everything He needed to conquer the temptations of the devil, live only to do the Father's will (which was to teach us about God and His heart for all of us!), then to die on a cross for all of our sins to be forgiven (past, present and future), rise on the third day and lives forever on at the right hand of the Father who sent Jesus for us. WOW! You do nothing and He gives everything in return! What a promise! You believe and receive His promises like Philippians 4:19 and what we get in return is this:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
We humans - His creation have much to be thankful for! We must be thankful for this very day - Rejoice this is the day the Lord has made, be glad in it! Psalm 118:24
I think about all that the Lord has shown me personally this week as I have meditated and listened to His voice in my quiet time - reminding me that in Him I can trust all things. There is a recurring theme when God speaks to us - He uses the word all many times when He wants to be sure we understand this verse/point doesn't mean sometimes or when He feels like it - it means all of the time, you can bet your life on it, you can count on it no matter what your eyes or mind may see or understand, you can set aside fear, worry, anxieties, doubt and unbelief because His word is truth! There is NO one like Him! There is NO one in your life that will ever come through time after time and be there NO matter what and love you after you disappoint them by being human! God is merciful, loving, kind, generous beyond anything we deserve and His mercies are new everyday!
Bad things happen this side of heaven. You can count on that. God is there in all of it - not the cause of it. He allows those things because our faith must be grown through trials. If life were perfect and without sin now - we would walk away from Him and forget about His love for us. We would take Him for granted and would sin just by our lack of love for all He does for us. Sad but true.
Fact - Jesus did walk on earth, thousands of people saw Him, spent time in His presence and what did the majority of people do? Doubted He was who He said, wanted to cast Him out, then they came to the conclusion they must kill Him. Jesus came to lead the way back to God and to fulfill the promises of His Father and OUR God made to each and everyone of us.
Why then do we not thank Him in all things? Why do we forget to be thankful for the trials, the hard things we must face, the challenges that our minds can't understand or grasp? Why do we fail to accept His joy, peace and love in those times and want to blame Him for the very thing He has allowed for our good and ultimately His glory? God never promised we would understand why? God never promised our ways are the same as His? God said in, Isaiah 55:7-9
Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
God doesn't want our thanks in only the good times. God is also not a genie - to show up just when you need Him. God wants to be our all in all! God's grace is sufficient for all that we need!
I am not making any promises to God about trusting in Him. Nor am I making any promises to God that I will do anything more. I have come to God His way, NOT mine - remembering whose I am - His. Paid in full for by the very life of His Son! That means the only thing I can do is lay down my life each and every day, thank Him for His love, mercy and grace upon my very existence and trust in His promises. And when I feel like I can't (which we really can't) I will call upon His name as He asks of me and lay it all down before Him - every fear, worry, doubt or trouble before me and trust in Him to do what He says He will - take care of my every need! That means there is no area I can't trust to God. Because He is faithful and never, ever, ever tells a lie or deceives us - no matter what the enemy is trying to tell our hearts and minds during the season of storms in our lives. The rain may come fast and furious - but the quiet is always right behind every storm. You all know the saying, there is a light at the end of every tunnel. There is! God says, "This too shall pass." "Rest in Him," He says. You can't experience the peace of God until you have experienced the grace of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good, For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1
1 Corinthians 1:4-5 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge,
What a beautiful reminder to us that Paul gave in 1 Corinthians - we have already been enriched in everything by Him the moment we were saved. We have already been blessed with every heavenly gift and now we can choose to thank God for them and use them, or we can ignore His graciousness upon our lives and feel the suffering of this lost and dying world as we go about our lives. He has given us a free will in which He wants us to CHOOSE HIM! He wants us to be willing to risk our lives for Him - lay them down at His feet and be like Mary, where we say from our hearts, "Do with me as You see fit, your handmaiden." Thanking Him for choosing us, His sons and daughters to be vessels in which He can work out His plan for His glory and our good!
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Use me Lord, keep me teachable and humble before You! Is my prayer today as I give great thanks to The One who has given His all for my life, that is His!
I am thankful for the work He has done in my heart this week about trusting Him. I thank God for His ways and how He uses love and grace to teach all of us. I thank God for my family! I thank God for my precious husband whose love for the Lord blesses me and our children beyond measure! I thank God for our blessings - each of our children that He has entrusted us with. I thank God for our family who we pray daily for that His truths will be known to them as well. I pray for our friends who enrich my life and are precious gifts given to me by Him. I thank God for each of you who read my blog. I thank Him for allowing me a voice to share His love with you and His truths that are life changing! I thank God for your hearts that you all share with me and want you to know how much each story you share blesses me! I am thankful for a Savior who loves each of us so much that He at this very moment is making intercession for our prayers, needs and lives before the One True and Living God! I am thankful that I have found peace through His grace upon my life and I finally see how trusting Him, His ways and His Son is the ONLY way for me to walk daily - His grace is sufficient!
