I’m struggling to hold back the tears as I stare at this photo!
I haven’t looked at it in years.
Nor did I expect it to bring out so many emotions all at once.
It is the very photo that changed our lives 7 years ago.
This referral picture is what brought our precious son into our family forever!!!!!
Do you see the angel on his forehead? It spoke to my heart the moment I saw his sweet little face on my computer screen. We knew he was our son immediately. Perfectly chosen for us by God.
I’m going to take you all back with me through the years that led us to where we are today, madly in love with this sweet, funny, sometimes crazy and mischievous, silly, adorable, full of joy and laughter, and unbelievably LOVING son of ours!
Here we are together the moment he was placed in my arms forever. He wasn’t half as excited as me. LOL! But that is OK, it only took five hours for him to never want to leave my side or arms.
Home sweet home with two sickies! Our younger daughter and our son both had high fevers on the flight home. One week later they had a horrible case of chicken pox. Yep, together!
The very next morning my husbands parents arrived to meet their newest grandson. Let’s just say it was love at first for all of them. Our son was infatuated with them. He misses Pop-pop dearly and still sheds a few tears when he realizes he is no longer here with us.
Oh all the firsts with him at home were amazing. He was pure joy and laughter all of the time.
We were thrilled to celebrate his 1st birthday together only two months after bringing him home!
Oh my goodness does this photo wreck me on so many levels. I’m sitting here breathing through the thoughts that don’t want to stop coming and I’m smiling, crying, and feeling so incredibly blessed by all that this photo represents.
It would take me weeks to tell our entire adoption story and how all seven of our adopted children came home. I have shared bits and pieces over the years of blogging. But to try and really tell their stories and how our lives have been forever changed would take time I just don’t have now. One day maybe. But until then, enjoy the photos that tell a story all on their own.
Summer 2011 – just the two of us!
This next photo shouts exactly what he is like today! HA HA HA!
With that – we all can’t wait to celebrate his 7th birthday tonight!!!
I am eternally grateful for how your sweet photo changed my life forever! You are a gift and treasure to us all! Happy Birthday son – we LOVE YOU!!!!!!
Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful day!
