What About Our Children? {Day 3 of Nutritional Cleansing}

Before we begin today, I want to share some sad and scary statistics with you:

Did you see the statistic that 43 million children are obese (7% of the population)!!!!!

Now, let’s talk about how we can change that statistic!

It begins with feeding our children REAL FOOD and teaching them what that is and isn’t.

Let’s begin with some facts about what most kids begin their day with…fake, dead, and processed food!

Let’s take a look at sugar…please don’t be fooled into thinking sugar-free means it is safe for anyone to consume let alone a child!

Please friends think about what you are feeding your children each day.  It is vital to their brain and gut health.  It is vital to how they are able to concentrate each day, create, imagine, and play (not to mention behave)!

Think of all the children who are on medications for anxiety, behavior, diabetes and depression.  Now imagine what would happen if we changed their diets and helped heal their guts. 

Let’s make food our medicine…

I do NOT promote eating at any fast food chain.  PERIOD!  End of story!   I don’t care if they change their labeling, and try to adhere to some fancy new laws.  Everything they serve is toxic.  Even their lettuce.  It is has zero nutritional value by the time you ingest it.  Not to mention it is not organic and filled with GMO’s.  Sigh…let’s go on!

 

Nearly 1/3 of children are overweight or obese in the U.S. Obesity contributes to five of the 10 leading causes of death in America, including heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, cancer and stroke. Changing these alarming statistics requires raising awareness about the life-threatening consequences of being obese.

I love that there is an easy answer to changing what you put into your children without the fight of them having to try all new foods all at once.  You simply add in…

Now in order for your children to become healthy eatersit begins with you!  I love these food rules:

French Kids Eat Everything: Our Kids Can Too!

This is how we parent!  Our kids don’t decide what is good for them.  That is up to us.  It is my job to research and learn what is truly healthy for them to eat.  We are in charge.  We are the parents.  We know what is best for them.   We don’t feed one child differently, we all eat what I the “Mom” makes.   No time for fussy eaters.  Children with food sensitivities and struggles with textures slowly work up to eating all the same foods that we eat at every meal.   They do not get to throw tantrums or demand something else.  They learn to respect and appreciate everything we give them.   They truly do NOT want to be in control.  It is too much responsibility for them and they begin to act out when they are in charge.  There is a reason kids are not meant to be parents before their time.  Take the control back and begin to enjoy meals again, as a family!
