Yes, I have! And you can make the same choice! Change your thoughts and change your life! What are you going to do to ensure this is your best year yet? Not empty resolutions. If you must make one try this instead: "I'm not going to be in competition with anyone but myself. Tomorrow I vow to be better than I was today. I vow to press on when I mess up and get right back on track. I am choosing to put realistic steps in place that are going to help me reach my goals each day - week - month - and this year!" So that when you look back next year at this time - you will be able to say "WOW! Look how far I have come!"
Step one: to having an amazing year is positive self talk and not letting others persuade you from going after your dreams. What sets the winners apart from everyone else? They talk less and do more. Excuses never help anyone achieve their goals. Live with intention.
Step two: don't fall into the trap that you are too old to try something new! Or to begin a new career where you will love what you do vs. doing something simply to get paid. One of the best things I did in 2016 was say yes to something I swore I would never do again and had no interest in doing. HA HA HA! The exact opposite of what I just said - but after giving it a try knowing I had nothing to lose it turns out it was exactly the career I have been praying about for the last five years!!!!
Step three: "surround yourself with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it." - Wilferd A. Peterson
Step four: pray for peace to walk with patience throughout each day and to be flexible with your methods to achieve your goals and with those in your life. But not to be flexible with your faith and doing what is right even if it is the hardest thing to do.
Step five: forgive yourself and others every single day. It truly is the greatest gift we can give to ourselves and sets us free from the baggage of resentment and bitterness. It also leaves room for us and others to mess up and move onward!
