KETO - CAFFEINE FREE BULLETPROOF DRINK


GIVE ME ALL THE FATS AND HOLD THE CAFFEINE PLEASE!  

Anyone else need to skip the caffeine like me because of your adrenals  and thyroid?

I know I'm not alone when it comes to being unable to drink coffee with caffeine - so this is for all of you who like me not only want to avoid it but have to in order to remain healthy!

My husband makes this exact same recipe, however, he uses organic coffee. 

Serving Size: 2  12oz mugs (when I make this for the kids afterschool I make 4-6 cups of the teccino and increase the other ingredients one portion: 3 TB of butter, etc.)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of  Herbal Coffee Alternative Teccino 
  • 12 oz of unsweetened coconut almond milk
  • 2 TB organic grassfed salted butter
  • 2 TB organic coconut oil
  • 2 TB organic heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp organic alcohol free almond extract
  • 1 tsp organic pumpkin spice
  • optional 1 tsp of organic tumeric
  • optional 1 tsp of organic cacao powder or raw cacao butter


DIRECTIONS:
  • Brew the Teccino with purified water
  • Heat up coconut almond milk on stovetop for about 1 minute
  • While waiting for teccino to be finished add all other ingredients into your blender
  • Then add in the heated up coconut almond milk
  • Then add in teccino
  • Then blend on low for 5 seconds, then increase up to highest speed for 15 seconds, back down to lowest speed and one more time to highest for 15 seconds.  MAKE sure lid is on securely so you do NOT get burned by anything splashing out, especially when your blender is full.  I wouldn't know anything about this though :-D 
  • Pour into mugs and sprinkle with a little bit of organic cinnamon

You need a high speed blender (I use a vitamix)



You might wonder why it is something our entire family enjoys?  
  1. For those on a high fat/low carb eating plan, bulletproof coffee is an excellent way to get your healthy fats in while keeping the carbs low due to no milk being added ( milk is reasonably high in carbs)
  2. If you struggle to eat breakfast, then starting your day with a cup of this coffee will honestly keep you alert and your energy levels high for hours.
  3. It can help you lose weight by stimulating your body’s fat burning potential
  4. It is reasonably quick to prepare once you get the hang of it and mobile as you can pop it into a thermos mug and head out the door for the school run or work.

NOTE from my favorite ketogenic cookbook author Maria Emmerich about drinking any bulletproof as a means for weight loss:
First off, butter is dairy. Cut it out.
Second, if you do bulletproof coffee in order to “fast” until noon, you are no longer fasting. Even if you ate only fat, eating over 40-50 calories takes you out of Intermittent Fasting which is a powerful tool for ketogenic dieting.
Third, drinking your calories do not signal the proper hormones such as leptin and ghrelin that give you the sense of satisfaction and signal that you are full. Chewing is a powerful tool. Use it.  I much prefer to chew my calories than drink them.

Me personally I drink half of my calories each day between our Green Smoothie and this hot drink - I only eat two meals a day (organic mixed greens and romaine lettuce, garlic stuffed olives, broccoli live sprouts, fermented veggies, cottage cheese, 1 TB raw nuts and seeds, and 2 TB of organic olive oil - my lunches vary depending on what I'm feeding the kids for dinner.)  And you all know our family LOVES keto-pancakes and cheeseakes.
