Wonderful Word Wednesday - Elohim

Truly this study is blessing me deeper each day.   I am learning so much and understanding things I have been hoping for a long time to sink in past my mind into my heart.   I praise YOU Elohim for creating us to think!  I praise You for creating us to seek after You and know You!   I praise You for making it so amazing as we fall more in love with You!

Today we are studying Genesis 28:10-22; 35:1-8 in hopes of comprehending deep in our hearts that Elohim not only created it all but is sustaining everything through His power.    I watched this video two years ago with Lexi and our older children, and I trust it will bless you too!    He holds everything together!  Without Him nothing remains!

When I went back to read Genesis 28:10-22 something hit me really hard – it was these words, “If God will…”   Huh?  What do you mean, “If God will…”   You see man has always needed God to prove Himself faithful to us.   If He – then I.  WHAT?  Do you see what is wrong with that equation?   If God, then I will trust, obey, listen, do, be, act, stop, start, move, stay, come, go, etc.   How crazy is that?   Yet, it is what we do every single day.    We pray for God to show us His will for our lives.  We pray for God to do something before we will step out in faith.   We are always asking God for a sign if we are on the right path.    Yes, it is good to ask God to open and close the doors that are of Him and NOT of Him.   Yes, it is good to desire to be directly in the center of His will for you life.  However, we should NOT be asking God to prove Himself in any way before we will trust and obey Him.    When you spend time getting to know Him – you will not need to worry about if you are in the center of His will or not – because He will be your priority in every area of your life.  When He is on the throne of your life – you can bet you will be walking right in the middle of His will perfectly!

As I taught the children this morning – not one of us spoke day and night into existence.  Not one of us created the other.  Not one of us can stop a storm or perform a miracle.  The only one who can do any of it is God.   ELOHIM!

All we have to do is be what He created us to be – to love Him with all of our hearts, mind and body.  To love others powered by His Spirit and allow that love to overtake us and cause us to walk in His light!   We only need to submit to His love for us!

As Philippians 1:6 says, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  AMEN!

Philippians 2:13 says, “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.”   Again I say, “AMEN!”

My friend Kim shared this with our prayer group yesterday – submission really means:  “under the same missionquoted by Lisa Bevere.   How perfect to think about that with our spouses.  We are under the same mission to put God first, to be our center and to worship His name and the goodness of His love in our lives.  To praise Elohim for all that He gives us so freely and graciously!  You and I only need to be what He has created us to be – to allow Him to lead us and guide us – to strengthen the gifts and talents given to us by Him – to be used all for His glory.

I don’t know about you – but that just makes me feel like a huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders – especially as a Mom raising 9 of His children!     Less of me – means more of Him.   I die to self and He lives!   Amazing grace!

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”   Philippians 2:3

I am going to circle back to Genesis 28:20 where Jacob said, “If God will…” because God has done it all – there is nothing more He must do for our obedience and submission – because His love is enough, as is His grace.   Without Him we all have nothing to give – through Him we have everything to share and bless everyone!    Let us step out in faith and be blessed by the one who created it all for our good and His glory!

For those of you who are praying with me for Sheri’s daddy I want to give you an update because God deserves our praise!   They were able to get all the cancer out of his breast tissue today and unable to find it in any lymph glands!   He will begin the radiation for the prostrate cancer in a few weeks!   Thank you all for the love and support you share here!

Another praise – Lilly’s blood tests came back and everything is normal.  There are only a few minor things we have to watch the next six months.   She had her ultrasound today and the results came back with a minor issue in one of her kidneys – unless she gets sick or has pain it does NOT need any further watching!   We have begun a very rigorous healthy diet and supplements with her and our doctor agrees this will help take care of all the minor issues we found through the testing.  Only one more test to go and that one is just TMI for the blog…collecting stool samples.   Fun!
