Week 27 good to WOW {SOOC}

Welcome back everyone! Thanks again for joining us. To those of you who are new to our weekly challenge please go here to learn all the details about how this works first. The next five weeks of themes/prompts are at the bottom of my blog. Also, everyone please do us a favor and read this post before entering any photo challenge…thanks!

This week our theme/prompt is Skies the Limit
Last week our family went blueberry picking on a farm next door to us.   We have been helping the owner pick the berries before they go bad.   She uses them for her restaurant and also makes the most delicious jam!   We had a blast and I will be sharing many photos this week from our time on the farm.  So be sure to check back often.

I found this tutorial last night about shooting into the sun – which is exactly what I did last week to capture the sunflowers below:

photos made with 100mm 2.8L {1/2500 f/2.8 ISO 160}

I want to thank those of you who have begun to add your photos to our good to WOW flickr group each week.   It has really helped me in viewing your SOOC shots and allows me to stay connected to our group.   I did find a place to go a few times a week with high speed internet and on those days I will do my best each week to visit as many of you as I can.

To view it and join – go here good to WOW flickr group – you can upload one photo a week into the group pool. Please name it “week # and photo prompt” to help the group follow along. If that does not work for you, please email me your best SOOC photos if you want to enter them into the give-away this month. Thank you!

Since July and August are such high vacation months – I’m taking the next two months off of give-aways.   We will begin voting for the best SOOC again in September.  I have a great gift already planned that you will want to keep practicing for your chance to win!  SO, PLEASE keep learning all you can to capture the best shots in camera.   I hope you are inspired by what I share here and from all those who enter our weekly challenge to learn more every month!   I love seeing so much growth in many of your shots.    This challenge has blessed me many ways!   Thanks for joining in and sharing this experience with me and Ashley!

  1. These sunflowers are amazing, thanks for the video! I'll have to play with it on our trip to Italy. I ditto Ashley's question, a friend of mine tried to explain metering the sky but I'm just not getting it and end up w/ white background.
    My first week to try Good to Wow, I've been watching Christine and the motivation she gets from here. My beautiful is up. LOVE your site Jill
